Fewer Ingredients for Oat Milk
The trend is simpler products.
Here’s an organic oat milk beverage with only a few ingredients.
Oat milk manufacturer Mooala says their new Simple Oat Milk and Simple Almond Milk only uses three ingredients: filtered water, organic oats or almonds, and sea salt.
In a released statement, Mooala CEO, Jeff Richards says, “Consumers are reading labels carefully.”
Using oat milk
Consumers also care about texture, according to biotech firm Novozymes. Oat milk gets many families started for the day.
In an Insights study titled What do American consumers want from oat drinks, 64% of consumers surveyed add oat milk to their tea and coffee and 54% add oat milk to their cereal, muesli, or breakfast smoothies. Another 25% say they use it for baking.
Oat milk’s low fat and low sugar content also makes it popular.
Plant-based nutrition
The Food and Drug Administration says families should know the sources for plant-based milk alternatives.
- Grains such as oat, quinoa and rice.
- Legumes such as pea and soy.
- Nuts such as almond, cashew, coconut, hazelnut, macadamia, peanut, pistachio and walnut.
