Hi Dawn-Renée Rice, again I really appreciate your thoughtful response. Your situation and ours is experienced by a focused group of people. Yes, I understand the parent-grandparent role quite well and it’s not easy. Building that structure into someone’s life is indeed tough and many, including those in the church, don’t get it if they haven’t experienced it.

Probably the biggest lesson I got was that our “discipline” at different stages was from moment by moment interactions. All my kids are strong personalities and I’m not — they’ve taught me a lot.
