Hi Edgar … I think the principal still applies of knowing what to look for … and then using the tools to make corrections … I can imagine they would be quite useful for a person where English is their second language, especially someone who learned English later.
However, the irony is that someone who studied English in another system may be better versed in grammar than someone like myself. That’s actually happened — where I tutored a high school student from Japan and he was asking grammatical questions that I had to go back and re-learn. :-)
