I worked most of my career in the nonprofit world in grassroots nonprofits before going into small business marketing. I don’t regret it but there were many tough moments. I used my journalism skills and did good work with the county but the pay was definitely low and the organization had its own share of politics due to board members and their opinions.

Congrats on having fulfilled your aspirations early and best in your next move. Certainly the idea that you want to benefit others is something to keep in mind whether in the nonprofit or for-profit sector. I hope you inspire others to do their best, too.
