I’ve been at my Dad’s house recently and uncovered my mother’s birth dad who was killed in the South Pacific in World War Two.

And my Dad’s father was killed in a mining accident in 1934 in western PA. I’m fascinated by history -- recent and centuries earlier.

What’s happened in the past certainly influences who we are, beliefs and values we hold close and the matetial things we either have or lack, especially roadways and buildings like you pointed out.
