This is excellent!!! Wish I had written with wit, like you. Of course, cantankerous crying and rueful regret won't spin the circumstances so I'll have to ... I'm running out of steam. But I really enjoyed what you write, especially about interspering and the subtle uses of alliteration. I use it often so I'll have to review my uses ... and write my own article ... and credit you for the inspiration.
